The Pass

We're not guaranteed anything in life my friend
Time passes by too fast
Hindsight is not only nonexistent, but impossible
We can't foretell the future and the past passes by
Sometimes too quickly to remember
Painful things happen that may be so hard to forgive
If forgiven, harder to forget
Take myself for example ... I can never forget, but I have forgiven
To remember the bad, however; isn't always so bad
To remember may hurt the mind, it may scar the heart
Tear at the stomach, it may sicken us
But to remember strengthens the soul, softens the heart
Helps us to understand everything better
Pain makes us beautiful if we allow it to
For the time we have left in this place, however short or long that may be,
eternity is ours to relish
We have won this game called life
and we may continue to play until our dying day is due
