Temporarily Blue (In Memory of Mary)

He awakened from the sleep; the poison they gave wore off
After the haze faded as a picture cleared; he smelled the truth to shed a tear
Crying, yesterday's child had died and died
Gone to the graveyard for innocence
Losing track of his soul along the way, temporary
Music calmed the beast and blocked the sound of ignorance's dismay
After she ceased to live, she shot herself
Just one too many times left alone
A shot to her arm and that empty in her head
As she bled; now she is dead
Oh, that prince stole her heart with shallow words
After the heart, he sucked her soul through her vein
That charming prince left her alone with a loaded gun
Only to dance with another innocent child
The vampire prince has yet to meet his stake
Blue, were you beautiful?
You may not remember him, but he well knows you
Now that your dead, he sees you so clear
If he had known you, you may have made love in loneliness' shadow
They could have held you in their arms instead of underwater
They could have kissed your beauty and artistic creations
They could have saved you
He doesn't know you and so he misses Blue
